Coca-Cola and coffee capsules

Coca-Cola has acquired a 10% stake in the producer of coffee capsules

Quite an interesting event happened recently in the world of coffee – the Coca-Cola Corporation for 1.25 billion dollars bought a 10% stake in Green Mountain Coffee (a producer of coffee in capsules). After the purchase, it became known that the management of Coca-Cola reserved the right to expand its share of shares to 16% over the next three years. The two sister companies also signed another 10-year contract, which states Green Mountain Coffee’s commitment to create a new special machine that, in terms of its functionality, will resemble the existing Keurig coffee machine, but will also be able to produce from capsule concentrates and traditional Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite and Fanta. In other words, one machine will be able to prepare carbonated and non-carbonated drinks, tea, juices and the like. It is planned

The American company Green Mountain Coffee has become one of the largest coffee producers thanks to the above-mentioned coffee machine. The deal between the two giants in the beverage world had a positive impact on the quotes of Green Mountain Coffee – in electronic trading they instantly increased by 58% and amounted to 128 US dollars per share (this despite the fact that the day before the signing of the agreement, one share of the company was worth 80 .88 US dollars).

The CEO of Green Mountain Coffee has already noted the positive aspects of the agreement, as close cooperation with Coca-Cola will significantly increase sales of coffee drinks.
